New Lecturers' Course (two days)
For newly appointed lecturers. This course introduces University processes and structures, including academic strategy, learning and pastoral support for students, quality assurance and CPD. This course took place in September 2011; if you are a new Lecturer who missed this course but would like to attend it in the future, please contact academic.development@sunderland.ac.uk
Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning
This course is run by the Department of Education in the Faculty of Education and Culture. Full programme and dates can be obtained from Dr Laurence Eagle (laurence.eagle@sunderland.ac.uk).
Preparing to Teach at the University of Sunderland (two days)
For staff who teach students but are not on a full academic contract. The course provides a short introduction to learning, teaching and student issues. Programme Leaders (one day)
For staff who have recently been appointed as Programme Leaders, or who are about to become Programme Leaders. The course provides an introduction the responsibilities of the role, and to how Programme Leaders work with the full range of services and support within the Univeristy. The next presentation of this course will take place at the end of Term 2 2012; if you would like to register your interest in attending please email academic.development@sunderland.ac.uk.
