Welcome to the University of Sunderland Energy Webpages. There is a lot of development in and around the area of energy conservation and I hope the following gives an informative insight into what is going on.
Climate change is a dominant global topic and in particular the use of finite fossil fuel resources with their inevitable release of CO2. The University of Sunderland is committed to sustainable development and seeks to actively manage our carbon emissions. We seek to influence those within the University and the wider community in order to face the future environmental challenge.
Within these pages we hope to show how the University is meeting it's Environmental commitments and demonstrate areas where staff, students and visitors can help the environment by making small changes, in order to reduce their consumption of energy from fossil fuels in work, study and play.
