About our Halls of Residence
Recommended to first year students, our undergraduate accommodation consists of Clanny House, The Forge U Student Village, Panns Bank and The Precinct which are all made up of self-contained flats where each student has a separate study bedroom and shared kitchen and lounge facilities.
Another of our halls of residence is Scotia Quay, offering ensuite accommodation and from the Academic Year 2010/11 is available for both undergraduate (Allan House) and postgraduate students (Russell House). We anticipate the interest in the ensuite rooms in Scotia Quay to be very high so would recommend application as soon as possible.
A £300 Booking Fee is required to secure bookings, (which is deducted from the first rent payment) with the remainder of the rent being paid via instalments as shown on the rent price list.
All the Halls have security staff on duty every evening, all weekend and bank holidays/University holidays.
Other facilities include: CCTV, parking facilities, on-site laundry, telephone in every flat and a team of domestic staff on site to deal with cleaning* of communal areas and reporting of repairs.. There is also a team of Residential Student Assistants (RSA's) who are available during the evening and throughout the night and at weekends to deal with any issues as they arise. Contact the duty RSA via security.
(*level of cleaning varies by location)
Returning students are welcome to apply to live in University accommodation for their next level of study. It is recommended that applications are made within the priority application period as detailed in notices displayed in Halls and the University to avoid disappointment as allocation can only be made dependent on bed availability at that time.
Part-time students are welcome also to apply to live in halls, but again this will depend on bed availability.
