The University of Sunderland is committed to continuous improvement in environmental performance in 'key' areas, such as Recycling, Transport, Energy and Waste Management which all impact upon our environment.

The University recognises that its activities impact upon the local, regional and global environments and seeks to minimise its negative impact and maximise the positive work undertaken, by a programme of continual improvements in environmental performance. Sustainable Development is ensuring that institutional development plans meet the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own environmental, social and economic requirements.
