The purpose of this page is to provide you with up to date news and information surrounding your accommodation and the University.
Important Dates for your Diary : 8 May until 22 May 2013 (inclusive)
To enable our accommodation booking system to be updated Accommodation On Line will not be available to students to apply for University accommodation (The Precinct, Clanny House, Panns Bank & Scotia Quay) during the above dates.
Please don’t worry – this time off line will not disadvantage you in any way as during this time no accommodation applications for academic year 2013/14 will be accepted. We would suggest you use this additional time to visit our website and familiarise yourself with the information on accommodation options and read the Rest Assured publication.
Note : Applications for The Forge U-Student Village will continue as normal via their website.
Should your accommodation request be urgent please email residentialservices@sunderland.ac.uk or contact The Accommodation Office in The Gateway – when one of the accommodation team will be happy to help you.
NEWS HIGHLIGHT: In April 2013 the National Student Housing Survey opened for students living in student accommodation in Sunderland, including University and private rented accommodation. Residential Services have pledged to donate 20p to the Students' Union Raise and Give (RAG) charities for every survey completed. Those who complete the survey will also be put into a draw to win an iPad and cash prizes. To complete the survey please visit; www.studenthousingsurvey.co.uk
NEWS HIGHLIGHT: Residential Services are now providing students staying in our accommodation, for a duration of 19 weeks or more, a complimentary bedding pack. The pack can be requested on arrival to your accommodation, just ask your hall staff on reception. (Offer does not include The Forge U Student Village).

4) The Forge - U Student Village
Rent Prices for 2013/14 are set to decrease to £77.50 per week for a standard room. Working in partnership with the University of Sunderland : U-Student which was created in September 2011 offers a secure, modern, vibrant student village for 548 students. Check out what's happening at The Forge U-Student Village by visiting their website and take a look at the new and fantastic social facilities which are available for all University students to use (remember to take your student ID card along with you).
5) Environment and Sustainability
Due to staff and residents hard work and commitment to saving energy, Residential Services were awarded the Environmental Management Award in 2012. Information on how you can be Energy efficient can be found in this section.
6) University Sport and Social Events
What to know what sport activities are scheduled this week? The University have a wide range of sporting/social events that you can get involved in.
