Campus Bus and Sunderland Connect Shuttle Bus

The University operates a free Campus Bus available to staff and students.  The Campus Circular route stops at the Halls of Residences and Ashburne House as well as City and St. Peters Campuses.

Facilities are delighted to announce an extended service on the Sunderland Connect Shuttle bus. This now operates every 15 minutes and offers services throughout the city. This service is free to staff and students on production of their ID card.

Nexus Metro Travel

Since 2004 the University has had a discounted metro travel arrangement between South Hylton and Brockley Whins at a cost of £44.00 per annum available to staff and students.  For those who travel beyond those stops a yearly discounted pass is available and allows travel on the whole of the metro system. The cost of the current Corporate Metrosaver is only £450 if you are renewing your metrosaver which can be bought online at buytickets.nexus.org.uk and £500 if you are purchasing it for the first time at a Nexus Travel Shop and can paid for annually or on a monthly basis. Click on the link for the University Metrosaver application form 2013‎The University operates a Pay and Display system in all car parks.  To be eligible to park at the lower staff/student rate you must be a member of the car parking scheme and display a valid University permit. Park and Ride

University staff and students may also use the Stadium of Light car parks free of charge (Except on match and event days). The new Sunderland Connect service can then be utilised to travel to your designated Campus. 

Cycling

The University encourages both students and staff to cycle to work and study. To support cyclists there are various facilities provided on campus. For more information, click here
