How to apply

  • The vacancy listing gives details of each individual vacancy and the Role Profiles (Job Descriptions).
  • Adverts and Role Profiles are in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format.  If you cannot open these documents please download Acrobat Reader here.
  • If you experience problems downloading details of a vacancy or either part of the University application form, please contact Human Resources on 0191 515 2055 or email employee.recruitment@sunderland.ac.uk
  • All applications must be made using the University of Sunderland Application Form (Part 1 + Part 2), unless otherwise stated.
  • A current version of the application form should be downloaded each time you apply for a vacancy as the form is revised and updated on a regular basis.
  • The University welcomes applications submitted via email; simply download both parts of the application form and email the completed versions to employee.recruitment@sunderland.ac.uk. You will receive an email in response to confirm that your application has been received. If you do not receive such an email please ring 0191 515 2055.
  • All applications must have been received by the University before midnight on the closing date.
  • If you have not received a response within 4 weeks of the closing date, please assume you have not been short-listed on this occasion.
  • For vacancies listed as internal only, applications will only be accepted from current University employees.
  • Applications may be considered on a job share basis subject to the University's Job Share Policy. For more information please see the policy or contact Human Resources.
  • Applications via recruitment agencies will only be accepted following prior agreement between the agency and HR in connection with a particular vacancy
  • OverseasApplications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.
