Ashbrooke Sports Club

Ashbrooke Sports Club has the facilities to increase participation in sport and recreation for people of all ages and abilities, with a variety of fitness regimes, to improve their health and, then, to be able to retain them in ongoing sport and active recreation through an effective network of clubs, facilities, coaches, volunteers and competitive opportunities.

Ashbrooke boast one of the most comprehensive Sports Clubs In the North East of England with a total of eight associated Sporting Sections and a modern Gym, Snooker Room, Lounge Bar, Sports Bar and Function Room.

As well as catering for individual Sports Sections, Ashbrooke can make its grounds and facilities available for hire to schools and members of the general public. We can accommodate virtually any type of function or special request including Christenings, Weddings, Funerals, Conferences, Sports Fun Days, Company Fun Days and Barbecues with entertainment and food arranged if required.

Ashbrooke Sports is also the venue for Sunderlands largest Fireworks Display/Fun Fair held annually on November 5th. (Weather Permitting) attracting crowds of 7000.

Ashbrooke Sports is a Charitable Trust controlled by a Board of Trustees, which consists of respected local businessmen and professional Managers, who are all Members of the Club and give their valuable spare time to ensuring the continuity of one of Sunderlands most historic and prestigious venues.

With its long cricketing history, and the superb facilities it offers to its Members, Ashbrooke was known as "The Lords of the North", and has been situated, since 1887, in a mature residential area of tree lined avenues, elegant Victorian terraces and discreet mews in the heart of the City of Sunderland at the junction of Ashbrooke Road and West Lawn.
