Elite Athlete Scheme

As part of the University of Sunderland’s continued development of services that it can offer elite athletes during their time at university, the Institute of Sport has implemented and grown the Elite Athlete Scheme.

The Scheme is designed to assist students who perform at a high level either in a sporting team or an individual sport, whilst studying at the University of Sunderland. The scheme aims to support students and help them achieve both their academic and sporting potential.

Past scheme members have included everyone from World Champion martial artists, Commonwealth gymnasts, County cricket players, European athletic competitors and Six Nations rugby champions. Visit the Elite Athlete blog for more information on current and past athletes.

Here at the Institute of Sport we recognise the commitment that is required to reach a high level of sport and we are here to help you along the way.
