It is critical to the health and wellbeing of staff, students and visitors that hazards associated with the university’s operations are identified, risk assessed and that appropriate control measures are put in-place in order to reduce the risk of harm.
The University must also ensure that it has identified all its environmental aspects. The identification of control measures for each hazard/aspect will involve consideration of the principals laid out in BS 14001:2004 – Environmental management systems- requirements with guidance for use.
This Health, Safety & Environmental document has been compiled to provide a comprehensive listing of legislation in force, relevant to health, safety & environment in the University of Sunderland at the date of issue. A list of known imminent legislation is available on request.
