The University’s Student Support Fund Team administers the Discretionary University Hardship Fund (UHF) for students who are experiencing financial difficulties. Eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students studying either full-time or part-time can apply. Applications are means tested and successful awards are paid as a non-repayable grant.
The UHF can also provide an Emergency Loan each academic year to currently registered students where there has been a delay in receiving the first instalment of student funding from Student Finance. These loans are designed to help with day-to-day basic living costs and travel to University. Repayment of loans must be made on receipt of the first instalment of Student Finance Maintenance Loan.
