Home / Managing your study / Academic Regulations and Student Guide

The Academic Regulations are the rules that govern how undergraduate and postgraduate taught students are assessed, progressed between stages, and given awards. You can find an explanation for key elements of the regulations in the Student Guide to the Academic Regulations.

Academic Regulations

Sunderland Online programmes have a number of Programme Specific Regulations which you should also be aware of; these are included in your Programme Handbook which can be found within Canvas.

In particular you should be aware that:

  • If you do not register on two consecutive modules and fail to respond to contact, you will be withdrawn from the programme.
  • There is no option to repeat a module in attendance or in an alternative mode of attendance on the Sunderland Online programmes. Toy have a total of three attempts at a module. If you not achieve the overall pass mark at the third attempt, you will be considered to have failed the module, and will not be able to achieve the full award. You will need to speak to your Programme Leader around your options.
