The University offers its students a chance to study abroad during their degree programme. Studying abroad increases employability, gives you a new sense of independence and accomplishment and helps you gain a sense of cultural and self awareness. Sunderland Abroad enables you to spend one or two semesters of your degree studying at one of over 300+ universities across the world. We currently have partners in Australia, Canada, South Korea, Taiwan, USA and across Europe.
Your time abroad will replace your studies in Sunderland so it will not extend your degree programme. The credit you gain while overseas replaces your time at Sunderland allowing you to complete your course as planned.
Study Abroad is available for most of our undergraduate programmes (with a few exceptions) and most of our students study abroad during the second year of their studies.
