Home / Student support / Counselling

Counselling is one of the many services offered by Wellbeing.

Counselling helps you to explore emotional, personal and relational difficulties, which may be getting in the way of your personal and professional potential.

Together we can support you to develop your emotional resilience and self-awareness.

Students bring a wide range of difficulties to Counselling such as:

  • bereavement and loss
  • family problems
  • self-harming behaviours
  • suicidal thinking
  • adjusting to change
  • sexual, emotional and physical abuse
  • stress, anxiety and low mood
  • eating distress
  • struggles with work and studies
  • issues with self-esteem and confidence

If you would like to access Wellbeing then please do not hesitate to contact us.

You will be offered an initial appointment and we will work together to create a personalised offer of support.

We are here to help you to make positive change and operate a strict confidentiality policy.

We also offer CBT online which is entirely free to use and available for you 24/7: sunderland.ac.uk/silvercloud

Silvercloud consists of five programmes providing space from depression, anxiety, panic, stress and body image difficulties. You can work through the programme on your own or if you prefer, you can access a Silvercloud Coach who can support you to work through your programme.
