Reporting Periods of Study Outside the UK

Home / Post-Graduate Research Student Handbook / Overview of a Post-graduate Research Degree Student’s Programme / Reporting Periods of Study Outside the UK

Students must discuss and agree any periods of study away from the University with their Director of Studies in advance of leaving the University.  If you are planning to undertake fieldwork outside of the UK as part of your research degree, please let the GRS team know grs@sunderland.ac.uk. This applies to Home/EU and International students.

Our university travel SharePoint space is a one stop shop for travel information. On this space you will see the  Business Travel Policy document which sets out the key principles in relation to risk assessment, booking travel and accommodation, and claiming subsistence and other incidental expenses incurred in connection with university business. The  Travel Guidance document also provides supplementary travel safety guidance for those who travel on University business, and for those who authorise travel, and this includes information on insurance and people travelling for research purposes. The Business Travel Factsheet confirms who our insurance is with, what it covers etc.
