The University’s academic structure consists of faculties, schools and services.  You will be based in the same faculty and school as your Director of Studies, details are provided in your offer letter.

Each faculty within the University has a Research Student Manager (academic member of staff).  The role of the Research Student Manager is to oversee postgraduate research activity within the School and to act as an independent member of staff outside of your supervisory team who will provide guidance and advice on matters referred to them by research students.  However, where possible, matters should normally be resolved through discussion between yourself and your supervisory team.
