City Campus
On City Campus we have a stylish space, providing all your culinary needs as well as a bar in the evenings with large screens within the City Space building, showing live sport and any other requested programmes. The Studio is open daily and offers everything from bottled soft drinks, beer, wine & spirits to delicious hot food from around the globe.
The Gateway Café has undergone a complete makeover and will now offer a new menu along with a new comfortable and luxurious dining area. The perfect location for a great tasting coffee along with a wide selection of grab and go items, at a pocket friendly price.
Murray Library Café has all the essential grab and Go food offers along with savoury snacks and sweet treats to fuel your studies on site.
Hope Street exchange is our High Street coffee offer also supplying hot and cold snacks from our Grab and Go range and those all important cakes and sweet treats for the afternoons.
Costa Coffee cart is situated in the Science building for a branded alternative that also provides hot drinks offers from our grab and Go range.
Priestman Café offers great coffee alongside our hot and cold snacks from our Grab and Go range and those all important cakes and sweet treats.
St Peter’s Campus
On the Sir Tom Cowie Campus, a refurbishment in ‘The Atrium’ over in Reg Vardy is complete, offering an extended seating area along with a new counter, serving a range of hot and cold snacks and homemade cakes.
In Prospect, the Balcony offers Costa coffee alongside a full range of sandwiches, snacks, cold drinks. Finally, the Riverside offers a modern and stylish area for you to sit and relax whilst enjoying tantalising food and drink, with a fantastic view of the River Wear.
All of the disposables used at the University are provided by Vegware, which is a visionary brand, and the only completely compostable packaging company operating globally: their award-winning catering disposables are low carbon, made from renewable or recycled materials and can be recycled along with food waste.
We are committed to reducing food miles at the University and therefore we rely on as few deliveries as possible. To achieve this, we have our deliveries on one single truck that is able to deliver frozen, chilled and ambient products which allows us to reduce deliveries by up to 40%.
